About This Course
Online Madrasa Classes – General Islamic Syllabus
Our Online Madrasa General Syllabus is designed for school-going and higher-secondary students up to Class 12, offering a balanced programme that brings together Quran reading, Tajweed, selected Hifz, Quran with meaning, Hadees, Islamic studies and Islamic history.
The programme is particularly suitable for students who wish to continue their Islamic education alongside regular school or higher-secondary studies, but who may not necessarily be following a specific organisational Madrasa syllabus.
Since students come with different levels of Quran reading, memorisation, Islamic knowledge and previous Madrasa education, the programme follows a flexible and personalised learning approach. Instead of placing every student on exactly the same learning path, we first understand the student's current level and then prepare a suitable syllabus based on their age, existing knowledge, learning ability and individual goals.
A Flexible Syllabus Based on the Student's Level
The learning journey begins with an initial assessment of the student's existing knowledge and skills. This helps the tutor understand the student's Quran reading ability, basic Tajweed knowledge, memorised Surahs, understanding of Islamic subjects, familiarity with Hadees and knowledge of fundamental Islamic concepts.
The assessment also helps identify areas where the student may need additional attention. A student with a strong foundation can move towards more advanced Islamic learning, while a beginner can start with essential concepts and gradually develop the required foundation.
For students beginning from a basic level, the complete learning programme may extend to approximately 120 sessions. This is an indicative duration rather than a fixed requirement, as the actual number and sequence of lessons can vary according to the student's learning speed, attendance, previous knowledge and progress.
Quran Reading and Development of Tajweed
Quran reading and correct recitation form an important foundation of the programme. Students who are beginners can start with Arabic letters, joining letters, words, pronunciation and basic Quran reading before gradually progressing towards fluent recitation.
Students who already know how to read the Quran can concentrate more on Tajweed, pronunciation and recitation improvement. The tutor can identify areas where the student needs correction and provide suitable exercises and regular practice.
The objective is to help students become comfortable and confident in Quran recitation while gradually improving their understanding and application of the relevant Tajweed principles.
Selected Hifz and Quran Memorisation
The programme includes selected Hifz, allowing students to memorise important Surahs and Quranic portions according to their age, existing knowledge and learning capacity.
Memorisation is combined with regular revision. Students are encouraged not only to learn new portions but also to revisit and practise previously memorised Surahs so that their memorisation becomes stronger and more reliable.
The selection of Surahs and the pace of memorisation can be adjusted according to the student's existing Hifz level. Students who have already memorised several Surahs can continue from their current level rather than repeating portions they already know.
Understanding the Quran Through Meaning and Explanation
The programme gives importance to understanding the Quran in addition to reading and memorisation. Students are introduced to selected Surahs along with their meaning and simple explanation, according to their age and level of understanding.
Through these lessons, students can learn about the main messages, guidance and important teachings contained in the selected Surahs. The tutor can explain the lessons in a simple and understandable manner and relate relevant teachings to situations that students encounter in their daily lives.
This approach helps students gradually develop a relationship with the Quran based not only on recitation, but also on understanding, reflection and practical application.
Islamic Studies for Everyday Life
The General Syllabus includes essential areas of Islamic Studies appropriate to the student's age and level. Lessons may cover Islamic beliefs, worship, manners and etiquette, responsibilities, personal conduct, good character and other important aspects of Muslim life.
Students are encouraged to understand how Islamic teachings apply to their everyday activities and relationships. Practical topics related to cleanliness, prayer, fasting, respect for parents and teachers, honesty, kindness and responsibility can be introduced according to the student's level.
The aim is to make Islamic education meaningful and connected to the student's real-life experiences.
Hadees with Meaning and Practical Lessons
Students are introduced to selected Hadees of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, chosen according to their age and learning level.
The emphasis is not limited to memorising the Hadees. Students can also learn the meaning and simple explanation of the selected teachings and understand the practical lessons they contain.
Topics may include good manners, honesty, kindness, respect, responsibility, worship, relationships and other aspects of everyday Muslim life. This helps students understand how the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ can influence their character and behaviour.
Islamic History, Seerah and Important Personalities
The programme also provides an introduction to Islamic history and Seerah through age-appropriate lessons. Students can learn about the lives of the Prophets, important events in Islamic history and notable personalities from Islamic tradition.
Rather than treating history simply as a collection of dates and events, lessons can focus on the values, experiences and practical lessons that students can learn from these examples.
Through stories and explanations appropriate to their age, students can develop greater familiarity with Islamic history and the lives of important personalities.
Learning According to Age, Ability and Previous Education
One of the important features of the General Syllabus is its flexibility. Students may join the programme with very different backgrounds.
A student who has completed several years of Madrasa education may already have good Quran reading, Hifz and Islamic knowledge. Another student may have attended Madrasa irregularly or may be beginning Islamic education from the basics.
The tutor can therefore adjust the sequence and depth of lessons according to the student's age, school class, previous learning, Quran level and overall Islamic knowledge. Additional practice can be provided where necessary, while students who are progressing well can move forward without being restricted by a rigid common pace.
Madrasa Education Alongside School and Class 12
The programme is designed to fit the needs of school-going and higher-secondary students up to Class 12. Online learning allows students to continue their Islamic education without having to discontinue their regular academic studies.
Class timings can be planned around the student's school and other educational commitments, while maintaining sufficient regularity for Quran reading, Hifz, Hadees and Islamic studies.
This makes the programme suitable for students who want to maintain a consistent Madrasa learning routine even when their school or academic schedule becomes demanding.
A Complete and Adaptable Islamic Learning Programme
The Online Madrasa General Syllabus brings together the major areas of Islamic learning into one structured programme. Depending on the student's level and requirements, the learning journey can include Quran reading, Tajweed, selected Hifz, Quran with meaning and explanation, Hadees, Islamic studies, Seerah and Islamic history.
Rather than following a rigid one-size-fits-all approach, the programme allows the tutor to build a learning path that is appropriate for the individual student. This helps beginners establish strong foundations while allowing students with previous Madrasa education to continue developing their knowledge and skills.
Learn Quran. Understand its message. Memorise selected Surahs. Learn from Hadees and Islamic history. Build Islamic knowledge and values alongside your school education.
